Middle treble hook did break to my surprise on one of my first outings. Even had a 22" Laker come up from 60' water to grab it. Find myself trolling weed lines for loads of Pike/Bass action. Hang on.Ĭomments: Size 12 Pink Clown excellent bait. I'm disappointed to say the least.Ĭomments: The J14 catches cold water big bass. but advertised as suspending which is extra important now in the cold water. I guess I'll have to try changing out hooks to heavier or putting on weight strips/dots. It says neutral bouyant and suspends, but mine floats. Great jerk bait for the priceĬomments: Floats. Even though it doesn't suspend they still hammer it.

WHAM!!!!Ĭomments: This is one great lure for smallmouth. The 14 size in blue silver has produced many 5lb.+ largemouth over the years in late fall.

Yeah, there's a lot of good cold water jerkbaits, but it's hard to find a jerkbait that can run this shallow, with a good silent cold water sluggish action.Ĭomments: Love this bait. I exclusively throw on 12-15 # copolymer as I'm usually in bank fishing situations suspending this 2-3 feet down above grass flats or walking a few different pike infested rivers and pitching the husky in eddies. Throw on heavier hooks for improved casting and suspending/sinking preference. If you are a bank fisherman, you need to have this in your arsenal for ice-out, early pre-spawn and late fall.I'm guessing winter too in the south. Line size and hooks will get you the depth and pausing action you want. I fish at least 15 different types of jerkbaits, including all your good JDM baits, but this fits the cold water/shallow running niche for me. Comments: Been fishing these for 20 years for bass and pike.
